Balboa is a cafe and kitchen on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. Organic coffee and farm-fresh breakfast and lunch, a short walk from the harbor. This guide shows how we look and how we sound.
We started Balboa because the best mornings on the peninsula deserved a better breakfast: coffee made with care, produce from farms up the coast, and a bright room by the water where nobody is in a hurry.
Three ideas sit behind the kitchen, the menu and every page of this guide.
Produce comes from farms up and down the coast, and the menu changes with what they have. If it is not in season, it is not on the menu.
Organic coffee, bread baked every morning, dressings made in our kitchen. A short menu done well.
Families off the ferry, surfers off the water, neighbors on their way to work. Come as you are.
This guide is for anyone who makes something with Balboa's name on it: a cup, a carrier, a card, a menu, a post. Use the colors, typefaces, photographs and patterns as they are set out here, so everything feels like it came from the same counter.
