Copyright Policy

Last updated 30 September 2026

Joisti respects copyright. If you believe a published guide copies your work without permission, tell us and we will act on it.

How to send a notice

Email hello@joisti.com with the subject "Copyright notice". Your notice needs to include:

  • A description of the work you say is infringed.
  • The address of the guide, and where in it the material appears, enough for us to find it.
  • Your name, postal address, phone number and email.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.
  • Your physical or electronic signature; typing your name is enough.

What happens next

We look at every complete notice. Where it holds up, we remove or disable access to the material and tell the person who published it, passing on your notice.

That person may send a counter-notice. If they do, we will pass it to you, and unless you tell us within ten business days that you have started legal action, we may restore the material.

Counter-notices

If material you published was removed and you believe that was a mistake, email us with the address of the material, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification, your name, address and phone number, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live.

Repeat infringement

Accounts that repeatedly publish infringing material are closed.

Fonts, pictures and other assets

A note for designers: most of what goes into a brand guide is licensed, not owned outright. Typefaces, stock photography and illustration usually come with terms about who may use them and where. Publishing a guide makes its downloads available to anyone with the address, so check that the licence allows that before you add them.
